About us
The Croatian word “putnik” means “traveller”.
And this is appropriate in two ways – firstly for it is the name of a family who for generations have travelled around the world, secondly it stands for our vision of offering travellers comfortable accommodation with good value for money.
In 2001 I decided to realise my dream of creating a haven for other travellers. This was to be practical and economical way for families to stay, while relaxing in the glorious atmosphere of the fishing village of Baska. This village with its unblemished beaches and crystal-clear water is listed as one of the sunniest villages in Europe.
Thus started the construction of the aparthotel, and in 2002 we opened the doors for guests. It quickly became popular, especially with Scandinavians.
My years in Sweden have provided me with the Swedish language that is invaluable when we entertain Swedish guests holidaying here in Baska Voda.
Only two seasons after opening, the increasing demand for rooms forced us to expand by building another apartment block, which was completed in 2004 and is located alongside the first block.
As an additional convenience for guests, an elevator and an indoor pathway connect the two blocks.
And so 20 years later, we continue to offer our guests an excellent service and a comfortable yet affordable accommodation that is located in a uniquely enjoyable atmosphere. And while the village of Baska Voda may have grown, it is still just as sun-drenched!
